Adolescent Counselling

The adolescent years are possibly the most difficult years in a person’s life. Along with the physical changes that bring so much of turmoil, there are major emotional and psychological changes happening, simultaneously … the “child” is really growing into an “adult”. His/her way of looking at the world is changing, yet, however the world still treats him/her as a child.

He / she ends up feeling misunderstood, discounted, unloved and may either turn rebellious or withdrawn. What he/she needs to understand is … what is happening and what can be done to make this transition easier on himself/herself.

The goal of these sessions is to help the teens cross this “Rubicon” with some information, guidance and awareness that would make it a smoother and easier transition through the process of acceptance.

Sometimes individuals need to learn and re – educate themselves about their own perceptions. This is especially true when crossing important milestones in life.

Teenagers may feel the need when they are coming out of the sheltered school life and going to college. College graduates may need finishing and polishing before they start working.
